Martin Hunt

I’m Martin Hunt, CEO and Founder of Garage (Y Combinator ’24) — a secondhand marketplace for emergency equipment. I had the pleasure of working with Jojo over the past year as she helped develop our launch branding, social media, and marketing strategy. Throughout our time working together, Jojo was always eager to take on new challenges and never hesitated to step outside her comfort zone. Her curiosity and adaptability allowed her to move seamlessly between design, strategy, and marketing. Jojo brought a strong mix of creative thinking and strategic execution to every project. She developed a clear, comprehensive brand book that defined our visual and verbal identity, built social templates that boosted engagement, and helped run A/B testing that improved our ad performance. One standout example was her redesign of our product awareness campaign — she identified underperforming segments, refined our messaging, and increased click-through rates by over 2%. Her entrepreneurial mindset, quick thinking, and clear communication made her an essential part of the launch team. Beyond her skills, Jojo is someone who naturally brings people together and lifts the energy of any group she’s in. Her positivity and collaborative spirit helped shape our early company culture — from encouraging open communication to starting small team traditions that made work more fun and connected. She’s proactive, dependable, and truly a team player — someone you can count on for both creativity and integrity. Anyone would be lucky to have Jojo on their team. She brings a rare combination of creativity, strategy, and enthusiasm that elevates every project she’s part of. Her entrepreneurial mindset, collaborative approach, and results-driven focus make her an incredible asset in any fast-paced, creative environment.

Jojo Perell has interned with In-Seam since July 2023 as our marketing and social media intern. She supported the company’s social media initiatives by analyzing competitor strategies and content franchises, designing post and story templates which included brand highlights, new arrivals, unboxing, client testimonials, etc, and scheduling posts. As part of a small and growing startup, Jojo was able to take on large projects and took initiative to take on more creative projects and share the data and insights from her work. Jojo has a great eye and natural ability for design. Her work was foundational to creating our social media brand identity and I am grateful to have worked with her. I’m confident that with direction and structure, she will bring the same level of excellence to any team or project sheundertakes. Should you have any questions, feel free to reach out to me.

Josephine Perell worked as a design intern and assistant. Josephine worked directly with me to assist on a range of commercial and residential interior design projects. She exceeded my expectations with her positive attitude, creativity and excitement to learn. Josephine is always able to adapt, switch gears and quickly problem solve which was essential for the fast paced work environment. Her organizational skills elevated my work and helped me balance a number of concurrent projects. I truly  enjoyed working with Josephine because she quickly understood my style and was able to translate my ideas into mood boards, concepts and presentations. Some of her daily tasks included but were not limited to, project management, vendor selection, managing vendors, pricing estimates, final selections, client and internal deck creation, scheduling, technology management, and installations.
